Akhilesh appeals to old SP leaders to rejoin his party to remove BJP from power in UP

Lucknow, Oct 2 (UNI) Reiteratering that INDIA alliance is strong in Uttar Pradesh and will contest the Assembly polls with strong commitment, Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav on Friday appealed to old SP leaders , who are in other political party to return back in their old party.
Yadav said that elections are a time for unity and it is a time to forget past mistakes and return to principles.
"Those friends who feel that our democracy, Constitution, and economy are under attack. Inflation is rising, profiteering is taking place by adding ethanol to petrol—all of these are wrong decisions—should forget the past and return. Support the Samajwadi Party in saving democracy, the Constitution, and the country's economy. If those friends who have lost their way want to join us, we will forget everything and take them along," he announced.
Talking to media persons here during a sports event, Mr. Yadav said that the BJP is a threat to democracy and the Constitution, and everyone should unite to remove the BJP.
Responding a question, Yadav said that the Samajwadi Party is in favor of a caste census. The Samajwadi Party wants a caste census to be conducted, ensuring that all castes receive their rights and respect according to their numbers.
Regarding the alliance for the assembly elections, SP President said that the India alliance which defeated the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections and won the maximum number of seats in Uttar Pradesh, will remain in power in the assembly elections as well.
He said that the people living on the banks of the Gomti river are facing a difficult time. People are facing problems due to floods and waterlogging. The BJP government did not clean the rivers. The BJP kept making false promises. The budget allocated for cleaning the river was spent but the river was not cleaned, due to which there is a situation of floods and waterlogging.
The crops of farmers have suffered huge losses in many districts due to rain and floods. The government should give full compensation to the farmers, he demanded.
On the occassion of Gandhi Jayanti, Yadav said that today those opposed to the ideals of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi are in power.
"These negative and divisive people believe in Nathuram Godse. These supremacists do not believe in the Constitution of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. These forces must be defeated and removed from power," he said.
Yadav said that those who hated Gandhiji still hate his ideals. Today, democracy and the Constitution are under attack. Loot, plunder, inflation, unemployment, and corruption are at their peak. The 2027 Assembly elections are an election to save democracy and the Constitution.
This Assembly election is a direct contest between the Samajwadi Party and the BJP. The Samajwadi Party will remove the BJP from power.
"In 2024, the Samajwadi Party-INDIA alliance defeated the BJP. In 2027, the Samajwadi Party will again defeat the BJP and establish a regime of social justice. This time, the BJP will be unable to withstand the power of the PDA. This time, the Samajwadi Party's PDA is filled with love, compassion, and a sense of belonging. The Samajwadi Party stands with everyone who is grieved, oppressed, and humiliated. The BJP has humiliated, exploited and betrayed every section of society," he claimed. UNI MBD SAS
