AP: CWC team visits Polavaram project

Eluru, June 14 (UNI) The Central Water Commission team comprising Yogesh Paithankar, Chief Engineer HS Senegar and PPA chief engineer Ramesh visited the Polavaram project on Saturday.

The team inspected the ongoing diaphragm wall, buttress dam, gap 1 works, upper and lower cofferdams, and spillway in the Polavaram project. The officials of the Water Resources Development explained to the CWC team about the construction of the buttress dam and diaphragm wall.

The visiting team members asked the officials to ensure that the project works were completed expeditiously as per the specified target. Water Resources Development officials explained that the Central and State governments were working in coordination.

Earlier, the team visited the project model, located in the model room near the project office. CE K Narasimha Murthy, SE Ramachandra Reddy and EE Balakrishna apprised the Central Water Commission team about the relevant details.
E E Srinivas said that the Central Water Commission team expressed satisfaction with the speedy progress of
the project construction.

The team was accompanied by Polavaram ENC K Narasimha Murthy, EEs D Srinivas, K Balakrishna, DEs Anil Kumar, Sriram Patel, Mallikarjun, AEEs Anil Kumar, Padma Kumar, Suresh, Arun, Kumaraswamy, Polavaram Project MEIL GM Gangadhar, DGM Murali Pammi, Pandey, Venkatesh.
