AP: Four Railway Over Bridges approved by Centre: MP

Eluru, May 16 (UNI) The Central Government has approved the construction of four Railway Over Bridges (ROBs) in the Eluru Parliamentary Constituency, Eluru MP Putta Mahesh Kumar has said.
In a statement issued on Friday, the MP said that he has continuously monitored and pursued the railway-related issues in Delhi. As a result of these efforts, the Central Government has given the green signal for the first phase of ROB construction.

The approved ROBs are strategically planned to improve connectivity and reduce traffic congestion. The ROB would be useful to ease traffic congestion on the national highway at the renowned pilgrimage centre Dwaraka Tirumala and the Kolleru tourist center.

Based on public demand, this bridge will enhance movement between the upland areas and the delta region at Bhimadole. The ROB would connect the upland areas via G. Kothapalli to the coastal town of Narsapuram, the MP highlighted.
At Unguturu, the railway flyover bridge would connect link roads from Nallajerla to the national highway, easing travel to the Horticultural University, the MP revealed.

The MP clarified that proposals for these projects, including funding requirements, had been sent to the Central Government, which has now granted its approval.

MP Putta Mahesh Kumar expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnav for their swift response. He also acknowledged the guidance and support of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and Minister Nara Lokesh, who requested allocation of funds for solving railway issues in the Eluru constituency.

The MP mentioned that construction work on the approved ROBs is expected to begin within the next six months. “Since the entire cost of the four ROBs is being borne by the Central Government, there will be no financial burden on the State Government. This will also ensure faster execution of the projects. Once completed, these bridges will relieve the public and motorists from long waiting times at railway crossings,” the MP asserted.

MP Putta Mahesh Kumar reiterated his commitment to secure additional funds from the Central Government for more ROBs to be constructed in the coming four years.
