AP: Licensed surveyors seek exemption from enforcement duty

Kakinada, June 27 (UNI) The welfare association of Licensed Technical Persons (LTP) of Andhra Pradesh has appealed to the government to give exemption to them from inspecting the construction of buildings and ensure that there is no deviation of the plan certified by them.
They also urged not to make them responsible for the deviations committed by the building owners.
At a press conference here today the association president Sathi Rambabu said it was improper on the part of the government to make responsible the Licensed Technical Persons who certified the plan, for the deviations of the builders in construction.
He urged the government to exempt the LTPs from the responsibility of enforcement as there is the Municipal planning department to look after the issue.
However, he said, their association was happy on the new GO no: 114 issued on June 26 liberalising the building construction guidelines. The GO stipulates that the building plans should be submitted for approval through licensed technical persons (LTP).
It also says that Up to 60 squire yards of site, the plan could be submitted through the LTP and with a mere one rupee fee payment permission could be obtained for construction, he added, and claimed that the GO was issued based on the representation of their association.
He thanked the Minister for Municipal administration P Narayana for obliging the association’s request and issuing the GO liberalising the rules.
District association secretary Garaga Ramakrishna, Kakinada association president AVS Raju, vice president Madimi Srihari were among those who attended.
