AP: Police seize car with 110 kgs of Ganja, four smugglers held

Kakinada, June 16 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh police arrested four smugglers, including a minor and seized 110 kgs of ganja here today,
Acting on Intelligence information, the Kakinada police intercepted a car near the MPDO’s office in Gandepalli on the national highway near here and on search found 110.640 kgs of Ganja packed in fifty packets.
The car along with the ganja was seized and four smugglers were arrested. Four smartphones and a cash of Rs 3,500 were also seized.
The value of Ganja is estimated to be around Rs 5.53,200.
The total value of Ganja, car and smartphones will be around Rs.8.30 lakhs, police said.
The arrested smugglers include the kingpin - Kallapalli Nagendra (43) of Gondavolu village under Nellore district, Shaik Sadik Wali (57), native of Chitvel village, Kadapa district, Pandillapalli Sivakumar (42), native of Chitvel, Kadapa district and a 17 year old male juvenile from Gondavolu village under Ravuru Mandal, Nellore district.
Nagendra was wanted by the police in two red sanders smuggling cases under Thottambedu police station in Tirupati urban district and Pullampeta police station in Kadapa district, Multiple ganja related cases in Kavali excise police station of Nellore district and Obulapalli police station in Annamayya district.
Shaik Sadik Wali was involved in a Ganja related case registered in Dhoolpet police station in Telangana.
The four-member gang in collaboration with an associate from Sileru were transporting Ganja from Sileru to Tamilnadu and they were arrested after a hot chase, police added.
A case was registered by the Gandepalli police under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. UNI XC KNR SSP
