AP: Two agricultural workers killed as car hits auto rickshaw

Nellore, June 5 (UNI) Two agricultural workers were killed and three others critically injured when the auto rickshaw they were riding to a farm field was hit by a car at AS Pet crossroads of Atmakur mandal on Thursday.
Police said that seven agricultural workers were going to Tellapadu village from Venkat Rao Palli village to work at a tobacco field. The auto rickshaw was hit by a speeding car, killing two workers on the spot.
The deceased were identified as auto rickshaw driver D Pulla Reddy (45) and Shaik Azeema (60). After hitting the auto rickshaw, the car veered off the road and overturned in a field. The accident took place when the auto rickshaw was taking a ‘U’ turn on the road.
The three injured workers were admitted to the Government General Hospital here, where their condition is said to be very critical.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed grief and shock over the death of two agricultural workers and injuries to three persons. He directed the officials to provide better medical treatment to the injured persons. He conveyed sympathies to the bereaved families.
