AP: Uppada fishing harbour to be completed within five months: Minister

Kakinada, Apr 26 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Roads and Buildings, Investments and infrastructure development B.C. Janardhana Reddy on Saturday said that the fishing harbour under construction at Aminabada near Uppada would be completed within five months and will be dedicated to the fishermen.
During his intensive tour of Kakinada district on Saturday, the Minister inspected the fishing harbour works along with the officials of Maritime Board, peoples representatives and instructed the officials to expedite the construction.
Ex TDP MLA SVSN Varna along with his supporters accorded a rousing reception to the Minister.
After interacting with the local fishermen on their problems, Reddy said that during 2018, the Telugu Desam Government had sanctioned Rs 361 crore for Uppada fishing harbour.
Due to obvious reasons, the construction of the fishing harbour was delayed. Under the instructions from Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, efforts are being made to complete the harbour and dedicate it to the fishermen’ the Minister added.
Earlier, accompanied by Kakinada city MLA Kondababu, Kavali MLA Daggumati Venkata Krishna Reddy, Maritime Board CEO Praveen Aditya, he visited Perumallapuram in Thondangi mandal and inspected the laying of tetrapods and boulders for the breakwater of the Kakinada Gateway port which is under construction.
