Asian Games: J&K cop appointed PMC officer joins Indian contingent

Jammu, Sep 19 (UNI) A senior officer from Jammu and Kashmir Police, SSP Dushyant Sharma, who has been appointed Prevention of Manipulation of Competition (PMC) officer for the 20th Asian Games 2026, on Saturday joined the Indian contingent in Japan.
In a message here, SSP Dushyant Sharma said that he arrived in Nagoya, Japan and excited to join the Indian Contingent as a Prevention of Manipulation of Competition (PMC) officer for the 20th Asian Games 2026.
"Have finally arrived in Nagoya, Japan, I am excited to join the Indian Contingent as a Prevention of Manipulation of Competition (PMC) officer for the 20th Asian Games 2026," he said in a message adding, "Before the opening ceremony, I had the wonderful opportunity to meet two truly inspiring sports stars from J&K—our talented daughter Shriya Gupta and Vishal Thapar—both of whom are international fencers."
"It's an incredible achievement for these gifted athletes, proudly representing India at such a prestigious event, second only to the Olympics," he said.
"I want to send my warmest wishes to them and to the entire Indian contingent, led by President P T Usha of the Indian Olympic Association, for success in the upcoming competitions," said Sharma.
"Today, we gather to celebrate the exciting opening of these amazing Games," he said in a message.
