Asian Games: Japan wins two track cycling golds as China, Malaysia take one each

Nagoya (Japan), Oct 2 (UNI) Host Japan claimed two gold medals as track cycling concluded at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Friday, while China and Malaysia took one gold each on the final day.
In the men's Madison, Japan topped the sprint classifications to finish with 76 points to win gold.
China's Wu Junjie and Sun Haijiao gained a lap on the field to earn 20 bonus points, but finished 21 points behind Japan to take silver. Uzbekistan took bronze.
In the men's keirin final, Malaysian veteran Mohd Azizulhasni Awang edged China's Li Zhiwei by just 0.018 seconds to win gold, with China's Xie Han taking bronze.
"Li was going at a very high speed, and I was chasing him all the way. I timed my move perfectly;
I caught up to him just before the final corner and overtook him," Awang said.
"I want to thank both riders for giving me such a great challenge during the race."
"Awang has always been my idol. He was at the peak of his career when I first started cycling, and the fact that he can still win gold at the Asian Games at the age of 38 is truly inspiring," Li said after the race. "Competing against him today gave me a lot of valuable experience in major events."
In the women's sprint, China's Yuan Liying defeated defending champion Mina Sato of Japan in both rounds of the final to claim her third gold medal of the Games. China's Jiang Yulu took bronze, according to Xinhua.
"Before the race, I did have the goal of winning three gold medals, but I felt that ultimately it would depend on how I performed on the day. I'm very honored and happy to have won three golds," Yuan said.
In the women's omnium, defending champion Yumi Kajihara of Japan retained her title with 136 points. Kazakhstan's Rinata Sultanova finished three points behind to take silver, while Hong Kong, China's Lee Sze Wing claimed bronze. China's Chen Ning finished fourth.
