Attempts being made to plunge democracy into fire of anarchy and instability: Yogi targets SP and Congress

Lucknow, Nov 5 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday accused the Congress and the INDI alliance of undermining democratic values, alleging that despite repeated rejection by the people, opposition parties were attempting to push the country's democracy towards anarchy, instability and chaos.
The Chief Minister said democracy is India's national strength, founded on public trust, constitutional norms and respect for the people's mandate. He described public confidence and active participation as the greatest strengths of a democratic system.
Yogi Adityanath said he would participate in the 'Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy' march being organised in Ghaziabad on Thursday, with a message of protecting democracy, upholding constitutional values and respecting the supremacy of the people's mandate.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, every BJP worker is committed to safeguarding democratic values and strengthening the country's democratic institutions.
Targeting the opposition, the Chief Minister alleged that the Congress and its INDI alliance are repeatedly being rejected by the electorate, but their actions reflected a disregard for democratic principles and constitutional norms.
He further asserted that the people's mandate is supreme in a democracy and that respecting it is the responsibility of every political party.
Emphasising public participation, Yogi Adityanath said BJP workers are working with commitment towards protecting democratic values and strengthening the democratic system.
