Bihar court issues NBW against ex-MLA Asha Sinha

Patna, June 17 (UNI) A special court constituted to hear the matter involving MPs and legislators issued non- bailable warrant (NBW) of arrest against former MLA Asha Sinha of Danapur Assembly constituency in connection with violation of model code of conduct and for violating government orders.
Special judge-cum-additional chief judicial magistrate Praveen Kumar Malviya rejected the bond paper of Sinha who was continuously absent in connection with the case and issued the NBW against her.
As per the charges, former MLA Sinha defied the government order and took out a procession on October 7 in 2015 during assembly elections in her constituency.
The court on May 13, 2025 ordered for physical presence of Sinha who was on bail and remained continuously absent. Defying the order, Sinha did not appear before the court following which the judge rejected her bond and issued NBW for her arrest.
