Bihar Dy CM says resentment among dalits over insult to Ambedkar by Lalu

Patna, June 18 (UNI) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Samrat Chaudhary on Wednesday said workers of Congress and RJD were angry over "insult" to the architect of the Constitution Bheemrao Ambedkar by Lalu Prasad and they are demanding public apology from him.

Chaudhary posted his comment on social media account X , saying that dalit workers of both Congress and RJD were upset over the "insult." "Workers of both parties are demanding public apology from Lalu or his son and leader of the Opposition in Bihar assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav for the serious offence of hurting the sentiment of the people of the country, particularly

Dalits", he said.

"Family members of Lalu are not in a mood to tender public apology on the issue, creating internal discord in both the parties ", BJP leader said adding that RJD was party of one family of Lalu and only his decision would prevail.

On June 11, Lalu was seen in a video clip on his birthday in which a party worker gifts a photo of Ambedkar to him, but he does not even touch it and the worker keeps holding the photo near the feet of Lalu sitting in chair. The video went viral causing embarrassment to Lalu and his party.
