Bihar: Nitish announces Rs 4 lakh ex-gratia each to 12 killed in lightning incidents

Patna, June 17 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday expressed deep sorrow over the death of 12 people who were killed in separate lightning incidents in six districts of the state and announced an ex-gratia of Rs four lakh to the kins of each deceased.
Kumar directed the authorities here to provide the ex-gratia amount to the victims' families and expressed solidarity towards the bereaved people.
The Chief Minister also appealed the people to remain alert during inclement weather and follow the guidelines issued on regular intervals by the disaster management department.
Notably, lightning claimed four lives in Buxar, three in West Champaran, two in Katihar and one each in Kaimur, Lakhisarai and Sitamarhi districts during the past 24 hours.
