BJP accuses Congress of "anti-tribal actions", recalls firing incidents

Ranchi, July 1 (UNI) BJP Jharkhand state spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo today alleged that the Congress has a record of taking actions against the interests of tribal communities and should refrain from making statements in their support.
Deo referred to the Saraikela-Kharsawan and Gua firing incidents, where tribals and Jharkhand movement supporters were killed while Congress was in power. Deo said these cases were not pursued further, and justice was not delivered.
He also accused the Congress of delaying the creation of Jharkhand as a separate state and attempting to influence Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MPs to block the demand.
Referring to the 2022 Presidential election, Deo said the Congress voted against Droupadi Murmu, the first tribal woman to become President, and asked its allies to do the same.
Deo said the Congress should not speak on tribal issues, given its past record.
No reaction from the Congress was available. UNI XC SSP
