BJP assures Pasmanda Muslims their rightful share in political participation

Patna, June 30 (UNI) Accusing previous governments of using Muslims for political gain while neglecting the upliftment of Pasmanda Muslims, the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) today assured that it would work to ensure the rightful share of the Pasmanda community in political participation.
Addressing “Pasmanda Milan Samaroh” at the party office, BJP state president Dilip Jaiswal said here that the BJP-led NDA government was the first to take concrete steps to offer reservation benefits to the Pasmanda community and assured that it would strive further to give them their genuine share in political participation.
Jaiswal highlighted the BJP’s commitment to inclusive politics, emphasising the party’s core principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas” (Together with all, Development for all, Trust of all). Without naming specific political opponents, he accused past governments of using Muslims for political gain while neglecting the upliftment of Pasmanda Muslims.
Speaking at the event, Jaiswal said that “Pasmanda literally means ‘those left behind’ but no sincere effort was ever made to bring them forward”. “The section continuously faced discrimination and political exploitation without real representation". He said the rest of the sections of the Muslim community benefited by sidelining the Pasmanda section.
Addressing the gathering, BJP Media In-Charge Danish Iqbal emphasised that Pasmanda Muslims constitute 70–80% of India’s Muslim population, yet continue to remain socially and economically backward. He blamed vote-bank politics and internal discrimination within the Muslim community for their plight.
“Even today, Pasmanda Muslims were denied equal rights and looked down upon,” Iqbal said. “They’ve faced so much exclusion that real progress was impossible. But since the NDA government came to power at the Centre and in Bihar, they worked towards their development with sincerity.”
People from various districts across Bihar participated in the conference organised with a focus on Inclusion and Representation of Pasmanda Muslims and shared their experiences and concerns. The event marked a strategic outreach by the BJP toward the backward sections of the Muslim community in the lead-up to upcoming elections. UNI RS SSP
