Bournemouth signs Truffert, opens door for Kerkez sale to Liverpool

London, June 16 (UNI) Bournemouth has signed left-back Adrien Truffert from French side Rennes for an initial fee of 11.4 million pounds (15.5 million US dollars), with a further three million in possible bonuses.
Twenty three-year-old Truffert has agreed a five-year-contract with the Premier League outfit until the end of June 2030 after making 191 first team appearances in Ligue 1 and scoring nine goals.
"It's a dream for any player to play in the Premier League. It's one of the best and most competitive leagues in the world," the full-back told the Bournemouth website.
"I'm looking forward to testing myself at this level, facing top players every week, and helping the team achieve great things."
"It's a great opportunity for me to keep progressing and to be part of an ambitious project. I felt the club's confidence in me from the first discussions, and I'm excited to get started," he added.
Truffert's arrival is doubly significant as it opens the door for Bournemouth to sell current first-choice left-back Milos Kerkez to Liverpool.
Kerkez impressed last season as Andoni Iraola's side finished ninth in the Premier League, with the form of the 21-year-old Hungarian catching Liverpool's attention as the reigning champion seeks to find a long-term replacement for Andy Robertson.
Liverpool is expected to offer around 45 million pounds for Kerkez and the signing of Truffert now means Bournemouth has signed an experienced replacement.
