Beijing, May 7 (UNI) China on Wednesday termed as “regrettable” India’s military operation of striking terror camps in Pakistan and POK, and urged both sides to exercise restraint and refrain from taking actions that could further complicate the situation.
China’s response came as the Indian armed forces launched cross-border strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir as part of Operation Sindoor early on Wednesday to avenge the brutal gunning down of 26 people, mostly tourists, by Pakistan-linked terrorists in Pahalgam.
China’s foreign ministry spokesperson said:
“China finds India’s military operation early this morning regrettable.
“We are concerned about the ongoing situation.
“India and Pakistan are and will always be each other’s neighbours. They are both China’s neighbours as well.
“China opposes all forms of terrorism. We urge both sides to act in the larger interest of peace and stability, remain calm, exercise restraint and refrain from taking actions that may further complicate the situation.”
Notably, Pakistan and China consider each other “iron-clad brothers”, and always back each other on every issue, and especially if it concerns India.
