CM announces Rs 1 cr compensation to families of deceased workers

Hyderabad, July 1 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday instructed officials to ensure that the families of the each deceased in the ghastly fire mishap that occurred in Pashmylaram industrial area in Sangareddy district, receive compensation of Rs 1 crore from Sigachi Industrict management.
The CM said Rs 10 lakhs will be given to seriously injured and partially injured will be provided Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia.
As an immediate assistance, the Chief Minister said that Rs One lakh will be given to the bereaved families of the victims and Rs 50,000 to injured family members.
On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from PMNRF which would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs 50,000.
Talking to reporters after inspecting the blast site and review rescue operations with the officials at Pashamylaram industrial area in Sangareddy, outskirts of the city along with Health Minister C. Damodar Raja Narsimha, Labour Minister Vivek Venkataswamy, IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Revanth said “The government had already formed a five member committee comprising Chief Secretary, Special Chief Secretary (Disaster Management), Principal Secretary (Labour), Principal Secretary (Health), and the Additional DGP (Fire Services), to probe the cause of the explosion and recommend preventive measures.
“We will identify the responsible persons and take stringent action once the probe report was received in the first ever-major disaster happened in Telangana and also in under united Andhra Pradesh,” the CM said
“The state government will also bring a transparent policy to prevent such incidents in the future,” the Chief Minister said adding that he has already ordered officials to conduct periodic inspections in companies to avert fire accidents.
According to officials, 36 people had died in the fire accident, the CM said around 143 people were at the facility at the time of the tragedy in which 58 have been identified and rescue operations are in full swing to trace missing persons.
Instructing the authorities to provide better medical care to the injured, the CM said that it was unfortunate that the two Telugu States of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana never witnessed such a big fire accident.
Serious over the incident, the CM ordered the officials to identify the responsible and take stringent action against them.
