Conveyed all concerns to Surjewala: BR Patil

Bengaluru, June 30 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and MLA BR Patil today said he had conveyed all his concerns directly to AICC General Secretary and Karnataka in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala during their meeting, adding that there were no instructions given to him in return.
"I met Surjewala Sahab, and whatever I had to say, I said it to his face. He heard everything I had to say and noted it down as well," Patil told reporters after the meeting, amid ongoing one-on-one interactions between Surjewala and state legislators over internal party matters and constituency-level development concerns.
When asked whether Surjewala had given him any specific directions, Patil curtly replied, "No. He did not give. Whatever had to be said has been said."
The comments come at a time when murmurs of discontent have surfaced within sections of the Karnataka Congress over allocations under Rajiv Gandhi Housing Scheme and funds required for development works. Patil's remarks suggest he has aired his grievances but is now drawing a line under the matter.
Surjewala, who arrived in Bengaluru today, is holding individual consultations with MLAs through July 2 at the state party headquarters, Bharat Jodo Bhavan, as part of an internal assessment exercise.
According to a communication from KPCC President DK Shivakumar, the meetings are focused on strengthening the party organization and addressing development bottlenecks in constituencies. Legislators have been asked to present their concerns within their scheduled time slots.
The outcome of these closed-door meetings is expected to shape Congress’s strategy and governance push in Karnataka in the coming months.
Meanwhile, Congress MLA Raju Kage is scheduled to meet Surjewala tomorrow. The meeting comes in the backdrop of Kage’s allegation that development funds have not been released for his constituency, a claim that has sparked speculation of internal discontent within the Congress ranks in Karnataka.
