Day temperatures above normal at few places over Arunachal Pradesh

Pune, Jun 9 (UNI) Day temperatures were markedly above normal ( > 5.1°C) at a few places over Arunachal Pradesh; at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya, west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, east Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
The temperatures were above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over Punjab; at most places over west Rajasthan; at a few places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar and east Uttar Pradesh; at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal, Vidarbha, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam and Kerala and Mahe;
The temperatures were above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over Uttarakhand, east Rajasthan and Lakshadweep; at a few places over west Madhya Pradesh and coastal Karnataka;
at isolated places over Odisha, Saurashtra and Kutch, Chhattisgarh and Telangana;
The temperatures were near normal (-1.5°C to 1.5°C) at many places over Madhya Maharashtra, north interior Karnataka and south interior Karnataka; at most places over Jharkhand, Gujarat
region, Konkan and Goa and Rayalaseema; at a few places over Marathwada; at isolated places
over Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
On Sunday, the highest maximum temperature of 47.4°C was reported at Sriganganagar (Rajasthan).

The Southwest Monsoon has been subdued over Arunachal Pradesh and Assam and Meghalaya.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at many places in coastal Karnataka, north interior Karnataka and Kerala and at a few places in Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura, Konkan and Goa, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalseema and south interior Karnataka and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat region, Saurashtra and Kutch, Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep.
Mainly dry weather has prevailed in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
Following observations for the past 24 hrs were recorded at 0830 hrs on Monday.
