Dhananjay Munde meets CM, Dy CM, demands SIT inquiry into sexual assault of minor girl in Beed

Mumbai, June 30 (UNI) Nationalist Congress Party leader and former minister, MLA Dhananjay Munde today met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister of Beed district Ajit Dada Pawar at Vidhan Bhavan, Mumbai, in the case of sexual assault of a minor girl in Beed city and demanded that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) be formed to conduct an independent probe in the case.
Munde demanded that the SIT should be headed by an experienced IPS-rank female police officer serving outside Beed district in order to provide justice by conducting an independent investigation.
The case pertains to alleged sexual assault of a 17-year-old student from the Umakiran Educational Complex in Beed, which has sparked widespread outrage and protest.
Munde said that police have arrested the two accused in this case, but ongoing investigation in this case is not satisfactory.
He said that many girls have been sexually abused by two accused, who are officials of the educational institute, and due to their local political support, other victim girls do not dare to file a complaint.
Therefore, an independent and impartial investigation by a woman IPS officer is necessary to bring justice to the victims, Munde said in his letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
He said that priority was to collect digital evidence in this case, but it is known that the police have not yet seized any of the CDR, IPDR, WhatsApp chat, Insta, chat, private calling, mobile data videos, photos, WhatsApp calls, FaceTime calls of the accused.

The victim and her family in this case are being threatened by the close associates of the local public representative and are being pressured to withdraw the complaint, said Munde.
