Distribution of Fish Prasadam begins in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, June 8 (UNI) The traditional distribution of fish prasadam by the Bathini family commenced at the Nampally Exhibition Grounds on Sunday, coinciding with Mrigasira Karte.
The annual event, organised to aid asthma patients, was formally inaugurated by Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar. TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud and Ministers D Sridhar Babu and Ponnam Prabhakar were also present at the launch of the two-day programme.
Extensive arrangements were made by various government departments to ensure smooth and safe distribution of the prasadam, which is provided free of cost.
To accommodate the large turnout, authorities increased the number of queue lines from 32 to 42. The Fisheries Department made over 1.5 lakh murrel fish available for the preparation of the prasadam. GHMC arranged mobile toilets and sanitation facilities, while the Water Board set up drinking water counters. The Revenue Department established a dedicated help centre.
Voluntary organisations are providing free breakfast, meals, and drinking water to asthma patients and their attendants.
TGSRTC is operating 140 special buses from 14 depots across the city and key locations such as Secunderabad Railway Station, MGBS, JBS, ECIL, Shamshabad Airport, Dilsukhnagar, Uppal, and Rajendranagar to facilitate easy access to the venue.
