Dundee part company with manager Docherty

London, May 19 (UNI) Dundee have sacked manager Tony Docherty following the end of the Scottish Premiership campaign.
The Dens Park club defeated St Johnstone 2-0 on Sunday to finish the season in 10th place.
A statement released by Dundee said, "the results of the team have not met the standards expected by the club".
Docherty, 54, was appointed in May 2023 and steered the Dark Blues to sixth place.
This term's points tally is down just one from the previous campaign but seven of those were earned after the split in the bottom half of the division and Dundee were under threat of the play-off going into their last fixture, the BBC reported.
Coaches Stuart Taylor, Alan Combe and Graeme Henderson have also left, with the club statement highlighting the intention to "restructure the football department".
Docherty, who was nominated for PFA Scotland manager of the year in 2024, had a long association with Derek McInnes prior to his move to Dundee, having served as assistant manager at St Johnstone, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock.
