ED arrests promoter of firm supplying ghee to TTD under PMLA

Chennai, Sep 19 (UNI) The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Kailash Chand Mangla promoter of M/s Sukriti Food Pvt. Ltd., under Section 19 of the PMLA, 2002 in connection with the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) ghee adulteration case.
He was produced before the Special Court (PMLA), Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, which remanded him to judicial custody, the ED said.
The ED initiated the probe on the basis of an FIR registered at Tirupati East Police Station alleging criminal conspiracy, cheating, forgery and corruption in relation to the fraudulent suppy of adulterated ghee to the TTD for preparing the world famous Laddu prasadam.
The probe revealed that adulterated ghee was allegedly manufcatured using Refined Palm Oil, Palm Kernel Oil, Palmolein and various chemicals, including MG-90, Monoglycerides, Myvacet Soft 400 and Acetic Acid Ester and was subseuqently suppled as Agmark Special Grade Cow Ghee to the TTD.
The alleged fraudulent suplies of ghee to the TTD during the period 2019-2024 were valued at about Rs.230 crores of which Rs.96 crores of Adulterated Ghee was manufactured by Kailash Chand Mangla who was one of the conspirator in the case, facilitating the procurement of adulterants and manufactured adulterted ghee at his factory premises.
He also coordinated the supply of adulterated ghee through various front entities, including M/s.Sri Vyshnavi Dairy Specialities Private Limited,M/s.Malganga Milk and AGro Products Pvt.Ltd, and M/s.A.R.Dairy Foods Pvt Ltd.
Investigations further revealed that Kailash Chand Mangla created and maintained false recores relating to the sale and purchase of ghee and refined palm oil, with the objective of concealing the actual utilisation of adulterants and creating an appearance of legitimate production and supply of genuine cow ghee.
Earlier, the ED has arrested Vipin Jain, Promoter and Director of M/s.Bhole Baba Oroganic Dairy Milk Pvt.Ltd., who was alleged to have orchestrated the manufacture and fraudulent supply of adulterated ghee to the TTD as part of the ongoing investigation in the case.
Further investigation is under progress, the ED said.

States need financial support for climate disaster preparedness: Minister T Siddique
