Following the continuous rise in the water level of the Big Gandak River in Kushinagar, Relief Commissioner Dr. Hrishikesh Bhaskar Yashod has directed the district administration to expedite relief and rescue operations in the affected areas. The administration has prioritised evacuating affected people to safety and providing them with timely food, rations, and medical care.
According to the Relief Commissioner's office on Wednesday, the water level of the Big Gandak River was recorded at 96.48 metres at 8 a.m. on September 29, which was 0.48 metres above the danger mark of 96 metres.
