Four held after lawyer killed over old enmity in UP's Jaunpur

Jaunpur (UP), May 24 (UNI) Four people were arrested after a 30-year-old lawyer was killed in a group clash during a wedding ceremony allegedly over an old enmity issue in Teji Bazar area of Jaunpur district here in Uttar Pradesh, police source said on Saturday.
Police sources said that lawyer Ranjeet Vishwakarma, a resident of Haiderpur village, had come with his friends to attend his maternal uncle's daughter's wedding on Friday night.
"When the guests were dancing, the mobile phone of one of them was stolen. When the family members came to know about this, they started accusing each other," they said.
Police said that this led to a scuffle between the family members. "Meanwhile, someone hit Ranjeet on the head with a stick, due to which he fell unconscious. The family members took him to Sadar Hospital where the doctors declared him dead," they said.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Sadar) Parmanand Kushwaha said the deceased lawyer's uncle Ram Ujagir Vishwakarma Advocate has filed a complaint and accused Kapoor Chand Vishwakarma, Lucky Vishwakarma, his two relatives Rajan Vishwakarma and Ashok Vishwakarma of murder due to old enmity.
"Teji Bazaar police has registered a case on the basis of the complaint and arrested all the four accused," he said.
