Four-time MLA Nand Lal cremated with full state honours in Himachal

Shimla, Nov 4 (UNI) Four-time MLA from Rampur and Chairman of the 7th State Finance Commission Nand Lal was cremated with full state honours at his native village Deothi in Shimla district on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu attended the funeral and laid a wreath on the mortal remains of the veteran Congress leader.
He also conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family. Remembering Nand Lal's contribution to the development of Rampur, the Chief Minister described him as a dedicated Congress leader who worked tirelessly for the welfare and upliftment of the people of the area. Sukhu said Nand Lal was known for his humble and cordial nature and had represented his constituency with dedication and commitment. He recalled that the former legislator consistently raised public issues in the State Legislative Assembly with dignity, decorum and logical arguments, reflecting his understanding of parliamentary traditions.
The Chief Minister said the void created by Nand Lal's demise could never be filled.
He prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
