From years of training to the stage: Tanvee presents Bharatanatyam Arangetram

New Delhi, Sep 20 (UNI) Years of rigorous Bharatanatyam training culminated on stage as Tanvee, a disciple of Guru Priya Srinivasan and a Doordarshan-graded artist, presented her Arangetram at the India International Centre here.
The recital featured a traditional Bharatanatyam repertoire combining intricate rhythmic patterns, precise footwork and expressive abhinaya, taking the audience through devotional, emotional and narrative compositions.
The programme on Saturday opened with an invocation and lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by Alarippu and Jatiswaram in Raga Kalyani and Rupaka Tala. Tanvee then presented the bhajan Maiya Mori, portraying the playful innocence of child Krishna through abhinaya.
The Ee Muvvagu Varnam in Dhanayasi Raga and Adi Tala formed the centrepiece of the recital, bringing together demanding nritta passages with themes of devotion, longing and spiritual yearning.
The second half opened with Ananda Natanam Prakasam, a Keerthanam in Kedaragaula Raga and Adi Tala depicting Lord Nataraja and his cosmic dance at Chidambaram. This was followed by the Yera Rara Javali, which explored love and human emotions through expressive movement.
A Tillana in Paras Raga brought the recital to a vibrant close, followed by Mangalam and a vote of thanks.
Among those attending the performance were Geetanjali Sharma, Vice Chairperson of NADA, former civil servant Amod Kanth, former MP Rakesh Sinha, and Dipin Singla and Rahul Raichur, both IRS officers.
Tanvee began learning Bharatanatyam at a young age under Guru Priya Srinivasan and has since performed at cultural, diplomatic and international platforms, besides participating in classical dance productions and cultural exchange programmes.
A B Tech graduate in Information Technology, she currently works as a Cybersecurity Engineer, pursuing her professional career alongside continued training in classical dance.
Srinivasan, a former student of Kalakshetra and founder-director of Trikaya Dance Foundation, has trained in Bharatanatyam under senior gurus in Chennai. She is an empanelled artist with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations and the Ministry of Culture.
The Arangetram was organised with the support of Rekha Sinha in memory of late Lieutenant Ravi Shankar. The presentation was guided by Srinivasan and Trikaya Dance Foundation.
The accompanying ensemble comprised Raag on vocals, Manohar Balachandirane on mridangam and Soumya Kannan on violin, with Srinivasan conducting the nattuvangam. The programme was hosted by Mrinalika Vats.
The recital marked Tanvee’s transition from years of disciplined apprenticeship to a new phase as a performing Bharatanatyam artist.

Cybercrime pendency falls sharply as Delhi Police steps up MRM, GRM disposal

New Delhi, Sep 20 (UNI) Delhi Police have sharply reduced pendency under the Money Restoration Module (MRM) and Grievance Redressal Mechanism (GRM) of the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), bringing the pendency in both mechanisms down from around 90 per cent a month ago to 13.60 per cent and 16.30 per cent, respectively.
