Funds released weekly for Indiramma house construction despite financial Challenges: P S Reddy

Hyderabad, May 19 (UNI) Despite the financial difficulties faced by the Telangana government in constructing Indiramma houses, funds are being released every Monday as construction milestones are achieved, said State Revenue, Housing, Information, and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy.

He informed that on Monday, Rs 16.07 crore was released for 1,383 houses whose basements have been completed and for 224 houses whose walls have been completed. So far, a total of Rs 53.64 crore has been disbursed to 5,364 beneficiaries whose basements and walls are complete. The payments to beneficiaries were reviewed with officials through a Zoom meeting.

The Minister further stated that under the pilot project of the Indiramma House Scheme, 47,335 houses have been sanctioned. Of these, 20,104 houses have been grounded, including 5,140 houses with completed basements, 300 houses with completed walls, and 10 houses with slabs.

He emphasised that the funds are being deposited directly into the beneficiaries’ accounts in four installments without involving any intermediaries. The payment schedule includes Rs 1 lakh after basement completion, Rs 1.25 lakh after walls are completed, Rs 1.75 lakh after slab completion, and the final Rs 1 lakh after the house is fully completed.

Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy instructed officials to expedite the completion of Indiramma houses, keeping the approaching rainy season in mind.
