Girls outshine boys again in SSLC Class 10 TN board exams

Chennai, May 16 (UNI) Girls again outshone boys in the Class 10 SSLC exams conducted by the Tamil Nadu government results of which were announced on Friday.

The results were released by the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examinations.

A total of 9,13,291 students appeared for the exams of which 8,17,421 have cleared the exams, registering an impressive overall pass percentage of 93.80 per cent..

Girls outperformed boys again with a pass percentage of 95.88 %,while boys recorded a pass percentage of 91.74%.

The pass percentage of girls was about 4% higher than boys.

While the government schools recorded 87.34% pass percentage,government-aided schools performed better at 93.09 per cent this year.

District-wise, Sivagangai topped the chart with a remarkable pass percentage of 98.31%, followed

by Virudhungar (97.45%) and Thoothukudi (96.76%).

Other districts that surpassed the 96% pass percentage included Kanyakumari, Tiruchirappalli, Coimbatore, Perambalur, and Ariyalur, demonstrating strong academic performances across various regions.

Students who are dissatisfied with their marks can apply for revaluation or rechecking within the stipulated time. Additionally, arrangements are in place for supplementary exams, offering another

opportunity for those who need to improve their marks.
