Govindaraj relieved as political secretary to Ktk CM

Bengaluru, Jun 6 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and MLC K Govindaraj was on Friday relieved from the post of Political Secretary to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah with immediate effect.
According to a government notification issued by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR) on Friday, Govindaraj’s services as the Political Secretary stand withdrawn.
The notification did not specify the reasons for his removal. However, the move has sparked speculation within political circles, given Govindaraj's longstanding association with the Chief Minister and his influential role within the party’s state unit.
The move also comes against the backdrop of the recent stampede during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) felicitation event at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, which has drawn sharp criticism over lapses in crowd management and administrative oversight
Govindaraj, who also serves as the President of the Basketball Federation of India, was appointed as Political Secretary shortly after the Congress government assumed office in May 2023.
