Haryana bags Rs 12,000 Crore investment proposals on Day One of Gujarat Roadshow; CM Saini leads charge in Surat

Kamlesh Kali
Surat, Oct 27 (UNI) Haryana has pulled off a blockbuster start to its investment drive in Gujarat, locking in proposals worth a staggering Rs 12,000 crore on the very first day of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini's roadshow here, in a major vote of confidence from India Inc. that firmly positions the State as one of the country's most attractive industrial destinations.
Leading a high-powered delegation, the Chief Minister held back-to-back one-on-one meetings with top corporate founders, Managing Directors, and CEOs, hammering out a series of Memoranda of Understanding spanning cutting-edge sectors from defence textiles to waste-to-energy.
Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh was present throughout the engagements.
The headline numbers tell a compelling story. Proposed investments include a hefty Rs 5,000 crore in defence textiles, Rs 2,000 crore in technical textiles, and Rs 500 crore in industrial machinery.
The State also secured commitments of Rs 400 crore each in solar energy and cosmetics manufacturing, alongside a major Rs 4,000 crore push into the waste-to-energy sector.
The breadth of the MoUs signals strong investor appetite across both traditional manufacturing and emerging green industries.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Saini reaffirmed his government's unwavering commitment to rolling out the red carpet for investors.
"Attracting investment and creating meaningful employment for our youth are at the very top of our agenda," he said.
"Haryana is continuously working to improve its ease of doing business and to build an ecosystem where industries can set up quickly, expand smoothly, and thrive without bureaucratic roadblocks."
The Chief Minister highlighted that Haryana's single-window mechanism, progressive policy framework, robust infrastructure backbone and improved connectivity are already delivering tangible results for entrepreneurs.
He stressed that regulatory procedures are being actively simplified, approvals are being time-bound, and inter-departmental coordination is being strengthened to ensure that projects do not get stuck in red tape.
Industry leaders who met the delegation expressed keen interest in Haryana's plug-and-play facilities, modern industrial infrastructure and investor-friendly policies.
Several representatives also shared sector-specific suggestions, reflecting a growing desire to deepen partnerships with the State across diverse industries.
The Chief Minister used the Surat platform to extend a formal invitation to investors and industrialists to participate in the 'Happening Haryana Global Summit', scheduled for April 2027, which is expected to further amplify the State's pitch to global and domestic investors.
Reiterating his government's focus on sustainable industrial growth, Saini assured investors that all incentives admissible under existing rules would be honoured, statutory approvals would be facilitated promptly, and full departmental support would be extended to ensure projects stay on schedule.
"We are responsive to the evolving needs of industry, and we are committed to eliminating avoidable procedural hurdles so that investors can implement their projects within stipulated timelines," he said.
Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Rajesh Khullar, Director General, Industries and Commerce Department, Yash Garg Managing Director, Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC), Vinay Pratap Singh, Additional Managing Director, HSIIDC, were also present.
