HP: Community mediation scheme launched in 5 villages of Hamirpur

Hamirpur (HP), Oct 2 (UNI) A community mediation scheme has been launched on a pilot basis in five villages of Hamirpur district: Swahal, Byad, Dhamrol, Majhiyar, and Ropa.
Specially trained community mediators have been appointed for this purpose. Many disputes can be resolved through them, and the parties involved in these disputes can also apply directly. For further information, one can contact the District Legal Services Authority at 01972-224399 or the National Legal Aid Helpline at 15100.
Kuldeep Sharma, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, stated that many minor cases frequently reaching the courts can be resolved through mediation and mutual consent. This would save time and money for all parties involved and prevent unnecessary bitterness in their relationships. It would also save the courts' time.
He noted that, in light of this, the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) is encouraging mediation and mutual consent in such cases. As part of this initiative, NALSA has launched a campaign titled "Towards a Dispute-Free and Litigation-Free Rural India."
Under this campaign, community mediators are being appointed; they can play a crucial role in resolving various cases through mutual consent by mediating between the parties involved. By promoting mediation and mutual consent in their respective areas, these community mediators will contribute to making these regions litigation-free.
