IOA, Korean Olympic Committee sign MoU to create new opportunities for athletes

New Delhi, Oct 6 (UNI) Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President P T Usha and Korean Sport and Olympic Committee President Ryu Seung-min signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Korea House during the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, aimed at creating new opportunities for athletes and strengthening sporting ties between the two countries.
According to the handout, the agreement marks an important milestone for the Olympic Movement, with both Usha and Ryu, as former athletes, bringing an understanding of athletes' needs and the importance of creating opportunities for the next generation.
The MoU is expected to further strengthen sporting ties between India and Korea and facilitate greater cooperation in athlete and youth development.
Under the partnership, the two organisations will work together in areas including high performance, coaching, sports science and good governance, while supporting the development of athletes and young sporting talent.
Asian Games Prevention of Manipulation of Competition Officer (PMC) Dushyant Sharma from Jammu and Kashmir was also present at the MoU signing ceremony, along with Usha and other members of the Indian Olympic delegation.
