IPROCH celebrates legacy of saint-poet Jayadeva with grand cultural festival

New Delhi, June 3 (UNI) The Institute for Promotion and Research on Odisha Culture and Heritage (IPROCH) hosted a vibrant two-day cultural festival, here dedicated to the life, works, and enduring influence of 12th-century saint-poet Bhakta Kavi Jayadeva.
Themed around Jayadeva’s timeless magnum opus Geeta Govinda, the festival from May 31 to June 1, offered a rich tapestry of classical performances, music, film, and scholarship. Artists, scholars, and spiritual thinkers from across India converged to honour Jayadeva’s contribution to Indian devotional literature and the Bhakti movement.
The day one bagan with Shabd Kirtan written on Jaidev were recited on the occasion along with Bhakta Jayadeva's influence on Sikh Gurus and his reference in Guru Granth Sahib.
