ISRO-NASA joint human spaceflight delayed by a day

Bengaluru, June 9 (UNI) The ISRO-NASA joint mission to the International Space Station (ISS), part of the Axiom-4 (Ax-4) mission, has been postponed by a day due to adverse weather conditions, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) announced on Monday.
Originally scheduled for lift-off on June 10, the mission will now be launched on June 11 at 5:30 PM IST, subject to weather clearance.
The Ax-4 mission will carry India's first Gaganyatri (space traveller) to the ISS in collaboration with NASA and private spaceflight company Axiom Space, marking a significant milestone in Indo-US space cooperation and India's expanding human spaceflight ambitions.
Confirming the rescheduling, Dr V Narayanan, Chairman ISRO, Secretary of the Department of Space, and Chairman of the Space Commission, said, "Due to weather conditions, the launch of Axiom-4 mission for sending Indian Gaganyatri to the International Space Station is postponed from June 10 to June 11."
The Indian astronaut will join the crew aboard the ISS to participate in cutting-edge experiments in microgravity, space medicine, and technology demonstration during the mission tenure.
Viewers can watch the lift-off live on YouTube through official channels of ISRO and NASA, with coverage expected to begin in the afternoon.
The Ax-4 mission marks a giant leap in India's journey toward long-term human presence in space and future participation in international space exploration efforts. UNI BDN SSP
