Jairam Ramesh slams PM Modi’s 'silence' on Gaza

New Delhi, June 24 (UNI) Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh today criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for maintaining “deafening silence” on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Referring to US President Donald Trump’s announcement of a ceasefire in the US-Israel conflict with Iran, Ramesh stated that no such ceasefire has been extended to Palestinians in Gaza, where he alleged that Israel's "genocide continues unabated".

“President Trump has announced a ceasefire in relation to the US-Israel war on Iran. But there is still no ceasefire in Gaza where the Israel genocide continues unabated,” the Rajya Sabha MP said in a post on social media platform X.

He further added, “Prime Minister Modi's silence on this catastrophe that has overtaken the Palestinians for well over eighteen months is deafening and has diminished India's moral and political standing”.
