Kerala Raj Bhavan turns as RSS Bhavan: Congress leader MM Hassan

Thiruvananthapurm, Jun 6 (UNI) In a scathing attack against Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, senior Congress leader and UDF Convenor MM Hassan alleged that Kerala Raj Bhavan has been turned as RSS Bhavan.
He also urged Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to inform the President of India about the recent 'Environment Day programme' in which a portrait of Bharat Mata was kept at the venue of the event held at Kerala Raj Bhavan.
MM Hassan, former KPCC President, also appreciated Kerala Agriculture Minister P Prasad for not attending the event and rejecting the demand to offer floral tributes to the picture of Bharat Mata carrying the saffron flag.
"The Chief Minister should also show the same level of courage shown by his Agriculture Minister.
Placing a photo of Bharat Mata carrying the flag of RSS at the official residence of the Governor was an unthinkable stance from him holding a constitutional position, he opined.
He also alleged that the Governor was insulting former prime ministers by inviting RSS ideologue S. Gurumurthy for a recent function held in Raj Bhavan.
The Governor's action of turning the Raj Bhavan into a RSS Bhavan is highly objectionable. Congress workers are still chanting the slogan 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' which was raised by the freedom fighters.
The secular believers of Kerala cannot accept the image of Bharat Mata carrying the saffron flag used by the RSS, he said.
While former Governor Arif Mohammed Khan carried out saffronization secretly, present Governor, who has a RSS heritage, is carrying it out openly, he alleged.
