Jammu, June 12 (UNI) Adding yet another feather to his cap, the lone Dronacharya awardee from Jammu and Kashmir, Kuldeep Handoo has been named as member of the Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel.
As per the order issued by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA), Kuldeep Handoo has been approved as a Sports Member of the Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel (ADDP) under the Anti —Doping Rules, 2021 for a period of two years or till the commencement of the National Anti-Doping Act 2022, whichever is earlier.
"It is an honour and I am privileged to be appointed as member of the ADDP panel of NADA," Handoo told UNI.
Apart from the job, he said, "I will try my best to apprise the athletes about the WADA rules and I thank to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and NADA for giving me this opportunity."
The former International Wushu player, Handoo at present is the National Chief Coach of the Indian Wushu team.
Serving as Deputy Superintendent of Police in Jammu and Kashmir, Handoo is posted as Sports Officer in the Department.
The Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel however, as per the order, has the power to hear and determine all issues arising from any matter which is referred to it pursuant to the National Anti-Doping Rules, 2021.
In particular, the Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel has the power to determine the consequences of the Anti-Doping Rule violation to be imposed pursuant to these Anti-Doping Rules, it read further.
