Landslide disrupts train services in Rayagada division; several trains cancelled, short-terminated

Bhubaneswar, Oct 6 (UNI) Train services in the Rayagada Division of East Coast Railway (ECoR) have been disrupted following a landslide between Maligura and Chhatariput stations, prompting the cancellation and curtailment of several trains to facilitate restoration work and ensure passenger safety.
According to ECoR sources, as a precautionary measure, several trains have been cancelled, while a number of services have been short-terminated or short-originated in view of the damage caused by the landslide.
Train No. 18108 Jagdalpur-Rourkela Express will remain cancelled on October 9 and 13.
Similarly, Train No. 18515 Visakhapatnam-Kirandul Express, Train No. 18516 Kirandul-Visakhapatnam Express and Train No. 18107 Rourkela-Jagdalpur Express have been cancelled from October 8 to 12.
Train No. 18005 Howrah-Jagdalpur Express, scheduled to commence its journey from Howrah from October 8 to 12, will be short-terminated at Koraput. The service between Koraput and Jagdalpur will remain cancelled.
Train No. 18006 Jagdalpur-Howrah Express, scheduled to commence its journey from Jagdalpur from October 10 to 14, will be short-originated from Koraput. The service between Jagdalpur and Koraput will remain cancelled.
Train No. 18447 Bhubaneswar-Jagdalpur Hirakhand Express, scheduled to commence its journey from Bhubaneswar from October 8 to 12, will be short-terminated at Koraput, with the Koraput-Jagdalpur section remaining cancelled.
Train No. 18448 Jagdalpur-Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express, scheduled to commence its journey from Jagdalpur from October 9 to 13, will be short-originated from Koraput. The service between Jagdalpur and Koraput will remain cancelled.
Train No. 58501 Visakhapatnam-Kirandul Passenger, scheduled to commence its journey from Visakhapatnam from October 8 to 12, will be short-terminated at Koraput, while the service between Koraput and Jagdalpur will remain cancelled.
Train No. 58502 Kirandul-Visakhapatnam Passenger, scheduled to commence its journey from Kirandul from October 8 to 12, will be short-originated from Koraput, with the Jagdalpur-Koraput section remaining cancelled.
The ECoR has advised passengers to check the status of their respective trains before commencing their journey and plan their travel accordingly in view of the temporary changes in train operations.
