Lions Club Shimla enhances visitor experience at Narkanda Ski slopes

Shimla, June 8 (UNI) In a commendable move to enhance public convenience and promote social welfare, Lions Club Shimla has taken the initiative to install benches around the skiing slopes at tourist resort Narkanda.
Known for their motto “We Serve,” the club continues its mission of civic and social upliftment with projects that directly benefit the community.
Club President Lion Man Mohan Verma highlighted the shortage of sitting infrastructure in the area, which sees a high footfall of tourists and locals alike, not just during the skiing season but year-round, thanks to its breathtaking scenic beauty.
Recognising the discomfort faced by visitors, the club decided to act.
Benches worth Rs. 45,000 were installed to provide much-needed rest spots for the public. This thoughtful gesture was lauded during an event attended by several dignitaries and Lions Club members, including Vice Presidents Lion O.P. Mehta and Lion Gopal Vaid, Project Chairperson Lion P.S. Panwar, Director Lion D.K. Chauhan, Lion R.K. Jishtu, and local leaders like BDO Narkanda Mr. Arvind Guleria and Panchayat Pradhan Mr. Rajesh Sharma.
