Maha: AMGM president cautions trekkers to take care in view of heavy rains

Pune, June 16 (UNI) Akhil Maharashtra Giryarohan Mahasangh (AMGM) which is the apex body of Maharashtra in climbing, has issued a circular for trekkers advising them to exercise caution during the rainy season.
AMGM president Umesh Zirpe has requested everyone to cooperate and reach the maximum number of people through social media.
He made this appeal after the incident of Kundmala where four people died and several others were seriously injured after the bridge over Indrayani river in Maval taluka collapsed.
In the circular, Zirpe said, "rainy season has commenced. The Sahyadri, which Maharashtra is blessed with, is completely covered with natural beauty during this season. Tourists visit various tourist spots to see this natural beauty. Some trekker groups also do different treks, but they should take care while roaming in Sahyadri."
