Maha: Congress leader slams Modi govt's action against Gandhis

Mumbai, Apr 17 (UNI) Maharashtra Congress in-charge Ramesh Chennithala on Thursday slammed the dictatorial Narendra Modi government at the Centre, saying that it was trying to eliminate the opposition parties by misusing central agencies like ED, CBI, and also was trying to suppress their voice.

Talking to media persons after protest agitation in presence of MPCC president Harshavardhan Sapkal at Dadar in central Mumbai against misuse of ED by the Modi government, he said that ED's action against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi was politically motivated.

"As a result, there is intense anger among public. Hence, the Congress party protested against this oppression for two days -- Wednesday (yesterday) and today, across Maharashtra," he noted.

Modi-(Amit) Shah cannot destroy the Congress party by such actions and such actions will not weaken the spirit of the Congress even a little, he maintained.

"On the contrary, we will fight this dictatorship strongly," Chennithala asserted.

The Congress party will continue to fight strongly against the Modi-Shah's government, he added.

Meanwhile, in the protest, Vijay Wadettiwar, Satej Patil, Goa in-charge Manikrao Thakre, Nana Patole, Naseem Khan and several other party leaders, office-bearers and workers participated.
