Maha leads country in transformative ‘Eat Right Street Food Hub’: MoS

Mumbai, May 4 (UNI) Maharashtra leads the country in the transformative ‘Eat Right Street Food Hub’ initiative, said Minister of State for Food & Drug Administration Yogesh Kadam on Sunday.
Speaking during a visit to the food stalls at Mahim Seafood Plaza -- an all-women run initiative started by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation under Maharashtra Eat Right Street Food Hub, he said that Mahim Seafood Plaza is a great example of how women in grassroots self-help groups can define the food safety standards in the country, based on the opportunities and training they receive.
"We are proud that Maharashtra is leading the country in this transformative initiative, Maharashtra Eat Right Street Food Hub," he said.
Stating that the food prepared by the women here is not only clean and tasty but also has deep roots in the traditional food culture of Konkan, Kadam praised all the women of the SHGs for maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
