Maha: Minister Bhujbal dedicates various development works in Nashik

Nashik, June 22 (UNI) Maharashtra Food, Civil Supplies Minister Chhagan Bhujbal asserted on Sunday that farmers and citizens will be provided with ample electricity through generators commissioned today by the Maharashtra Distribution Corporation Ltd.
Speaking at the foundation stone laying and public dedication of various development works of the Maharashtra Distribution Corporation at Devgaon, Kanalad, Maralgoi, Khadkamalegaon and Vinchur in Niphad taluka of the district, he said that recognising the need of electricity for farmers for irrigation during the Kharif season, electricity connections have been provided to lakhs of farmers through the government scheme.
Additional substations including Yeola and Lasalgaon and increasing their capacity, along with ancillary works, are being done with a fund of Rs 45 crore, thereby permanently resolving the problem of erratic supply of electricity in this area, he informed.
He further said that a 430 kV high-pressure substation of the transmission system will be built here at Sarole Khu at an estimated cost of Rs 600 crore. Due to this, the electricity problem of many villages will be resolved permanently, he said.
The government is making efforts to provide farmers with sufficient electricity at full capacity during the day, and various projects are being implemented in this regard, the minister informed and highlighted many important schemes implemented by the government to generate affordable electricity from natural sources like solar and wind energy to make it available in abundance.
After the laying of AC cables and replacement and upgradation of conductors under the RDSS Loss Reduction Scheme of Mahavitaran, the unauthorised load on transformers will be reduced and the number of transformers that fail will decrease, Bhujbal added.
An additional transformer with an additional capacity of 5 MVA has been commissioned today at the Khadak Malegaon power substation in Niphad taluka and an additional 5 MVA capacity at the Maralgoi power substation.
