Maha: Social media influencers need to maintain their true identity

Mumbai, May 4 (UNI) Participants in a seminar titled ‘Best Practices for Social Media Advertising for Influencers’ held on Sunday concurred that influencers on social media need to maintain their true identity.
The seminar was organised at the Waves 2025 Audiovisual and Entertainment Summit organised at the Jio World Centre in suburban Bandra.
Participant Saheli Sinha suggested that influencers should partner with various brands responsibly, saying that consumers trust influential people and buy the things they advertise, therefore, it is necessary for the influencers to gain knowledge and experience about that thing themselves and then cultivate transparency in telling others about it.
Shibani Akhtar stressed that social media influencers should give importance to honesty.
Vinay Pillai said that as each social media platform is used for a different reason, an influencer should identify one's own characteristics and create content accordingly.
Mayank Shekhar argued that influencers should not just follow trends but should also present the right
essentials.
Tanu Banerjee said that as media is constantly changing, influencers should also change their methods.
