Mumbai, May 7 (UNI) Three Bangladeshi nationals, including two women, were arrested by Thane police for residing in neighbouring Bhiwandi city without valid visas or passports, officials said here on Wednesday.
The accused, identified as Babli Daulat Shaikh (40), Rehana Rajjak Shaikh (25) and Mohammad Ismail Husain alias Ismail Ansari (45), were residing in Bagalapura area of Bhiwandi.
According to police, acting on a tip-off, officials checked the documents of the trio and discovered that all three were Bangladeshi nationals living in India without valid documents.
After verifying their nationality, police informed senior officials and subsequently registered an FIR (first information report) under Sections 3 and 4 of the Passport Act, 1920, along with Sections 13 and 14(A)(B) of the Foreigners Act.
