Itanagar, Apr 29 (UNI) In a significant breakthrough under Operation Dawn 2.0, the Naharlagun Police of Arunachal Pradesh successfully apprehended a main drug supplier near Dikrong river bank, and recovered 20 vials of heroin from his possession
The drug supplier is linked to Naharlagun PS Case No. 57/25 under Sections 21(b)/27/29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, a senior police officer said on Tuesday.
Acting on vital leads obtained during the investigation of previously arrested accused, a police team led by Inspector Krishnendu Dev, Officer-in-Charge, Naharlagun Police Station, along with other officers, conducted a well-coordinated raid on Monday with the assistance of Assam Police.
The operation was carried out at Brahmaputra Nagar, near the Dikrong river bank, resulting in the arrest of Aamir Ali (39), a resident of Banderdewa, Assam. Police recovered 20 vials of suspected heroin weighing approximately 27.9 grams from his possession.
This arrest follows the apprehension of two co-accused, Techi Lez (30) and Tana Jamja (28) on Sunday in the same case.
The operation was conducted under the close supervision of Naharlagun SP Mihin Gambo and SDPO Rishi Longdo.
