Khandwa (Madhya Pradesh), June 5 (UNI) Mild earthquake tremors were felt in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday night.
The tremors were experienced around 9:57 pm, with a magnitude of 3.8 on the Richter scale. However, no loss of life or property has been reported.
The epicentre of the earthquake was located approximately 66 km away from Khandwa, near the border of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.
Khandwa falls under Seismic Zone 3 on the country's earthquake map, where earthquakes with a maximum magnitude of 7-8 have been recorded in the past.
While there have been some geological movements in the region over the past 30 years, no major earthquake has been reported in the area.
