Miyapur lands be utilised for public welfare, not sold: Chada Venkat Reddy

Hyderabad, Oct 30 (UNI) Senior CPI leader and former MLA Chada Venkat Reddy today welcomed the Supreme Court's verdict protecting 550 acres of valuable Miyapur land from encroachment and congratulated Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for taking a special initiative to secure a favourable outcome in the case.
In a statement, he said the previous government had adopted a delaying approach despite attempts by certain individuals and organisations to grab the valuable land by misleading the courts. Recalling his efforts as CPI State Secretary, he said he had written to the then government urging it to protect the land from alienation and utilise it for public benefit.
Congratulating the Revanth Reddy government for effectively pursuing the case in the Supreme Court and protecting land estimated to be worth nearly Rs₹60,000 crore, he stressed that the property should not be sold. Instead, it should be preserved and utilised for public welfare and the benefit of future generations.
